CJC-1295: Research Profile

A synthetic GRF analogue supplied in two forms — with a DAC (drug affinity complex) linker for extended half-life, and without DAC — investigated in growth-hormone-axis preclinical research.

What CJC-1295 is

CJC-1295 is a synthetic analogue of the growth hormone-releasing factor GRF(1-29), with four amino-acid substitutions to improve chemical stability. Two research forms exist: CJC-1295 with DAC, incorporating a maleimidopropionyl-Lys linker that binds to plasma albumin and substantially extends half-life; and CJC-1295 without DAC (also called modified GRF 1-29), lacking the albumin-binding linker and cleared more rapidly. CJC-1295 is often supplied and studied alongside Ipamorelin.

Molecular information

  • Sequence origin: GRF(1-29) with substitutions at positions 2, 8, 15 and 27
  • Number of residues in the peptide chain: 30 (with DAC linker) / 29 (without DAC)
  • Approximate mass: ~3.65 kDa (with DAC) / ~3.36 kDa (without DAC)
  • Physical form: Typically supplied as a white lyophilised powder

Areas of published research

Published preclinical research has examined the effect of stabilised GRF analogues on growth-hormone pulsatility and downstream IGF-1 responses. The DAC-linked variant's albumin binding is central to its extended half-life and is well characterised in the literature. Analytical work requires reversed-phase HPLC with a gradient sufficient to resolve deletion sequences, and LC-MS to confirm identity — particularly the presence of the DAC linker in the DAC-containing form.

Analytical considerations

Standard research-peptide analytical checks apply: identity confirmation by mass spectrometry (see LC-MS peptide testing explained), purity assessment by reversed-phase HPLC at 214 nm (see what is HPLC peptide testing), and batch-specific documentation (see how to read a peptide COA). Refer to the Peptovia Research Certificate of Analysis page for live examples of the analytical format used for batches supplied.
